College Application Campaign 2024

As part of a national effort to assist twelfth grade students, especially those from underserved populations, the Iowa College Aid's Course to College programming promotes a statewide college application campaign during the month of October. Since 2013, the Counseling Office at Senior has dedicated one day during October to encourage and support all of the seniors to start and/or complete their applications to their prospective schools as well as assist them in navigating the admissions process.

The Counseling Office feels the best part of this initiative is getting seniors over their fear of applying to college, getting them over their procrastination of something hard, answering their questions - and easing their minds. To promote the college-going culture throughout Senior High School, the Counseling Office designed a fun, festive and inviting event. The DSHS Educational Foundation supported this event by providing pizza at the event and Starbucks gift cards for bingo game prizes.
